San Jacinto Night 2015
Historically, San Jacinto Day was one of the biggest events of the year. Starting in 1871, the event served as an opportunity for the citizens and firefighters of Austin to celebrate their history and tradition. With events such as a parade of Hook and Ladder trucks, family picnics, and friendly firefighter competitions, the celebration included the entire city. Many artifacts from San Jacinto Day can be viewed in our very own Austin Fire Museum!
At last year’s San Jacinto Night celebration, we hosted more than 500 firefighters and their families. This year, our silent auction will again benefit the Emergency Service Pipes and Drums Association, a 501(c)3 organization. ESPADA is a non-profit band made up of Central Texas area Firefighters, Police Officers and Paramedics. We perform at many events ranging from St. Baldrick’s fundraisers and Veteran’s Day parades to Fire Station openings and Line of Duty funerals. Our mission is to provide quality musicianship representing Central Texas Emergency Service Providers while fostering traditions and camaraderie between fellow Emergency Public Service Departments.
Our goal is to expand this event every year until it once again grand, city-wide participation.
San Jacinto Night 2015 will be held on Saturday, April 11th and we need your help to make it a success!
